The marvellous Moon

WALT:do a poem on the moon
I enjoyed creating this poem because of the Rhyme and because I  found it challenging.
Did you know that Neil Armstrong [One of the first Astronauts on the Moon ] earned a Eagle Scout badge in Scouts.Six hundred million people watched the Apollo 11 moon landing. The footprints from the first moon landing [ the Apollo 11 Neil Armstrong's , Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collin's ship] is still there. if you you found an alien on the moon what would you call it?

  1. What a wonderful dreamy poem, that a lot of people will relate too. I believe just about everyone thinks about wanting to visit the moon sometime in their lifetime.
If I met an alien I would assume it was male, so would call him George.

  2. Hi Mum,
thank you for you positive comment.
I see that you would like to go to the moon ,too by the way you said everyone.next time you could ask a question and say what I could improve on but otherwise keep up the positiveness
if you could name the Moon anything what would you call it? I would name it "the mouldy cheese"

  3. Hi Emily, this is Shannon from the Summer Learning Journey.

What an incredible job you have done. It’s such a beautifully written poem, bursting with amazing imagery and metaphors. You have done a stellar job! In particular I like how you have said the moon is hanging up there. What a cool way to describe it! It really does look like it is, suspended and floating with minimal gravity. You’ve captured the moon and it’s effortless beauty marvellously.

If I found an alien on the moon, I think I’d call their species Moonanites. I think they’d be almost translucent in colour and would probably really like to eat cheese. What do you think moon aliens would look like?

I did notice that some of the writing is a little bit hard to read because of your moon background. Maybe you could change the colour of the text so it stands out a bit more for your readers or perhaps make it bolder/bigger so it’s a little bit easier to read.

    Keep up the spectacular work!

    Hei konā mai,
